The technological startup of the Szprotawa photovoltaic farm involves energizing the installation to test photovoltaic panels, inverters, transformer stations, and cable connections. A license application has been submitted to the Energy Regulatory Office, with the licensing process expected to take several weeks to a few months.
Szprotawa represents the largest photovoltaic investment in Polenergia's portfolio. Covering over 76 hectares, the farm will boost our installed PV capacity to 149 MW by the second half of 2025, increasing the total renewable energy capacity of Polenergia to 641 MW. In the rapidly developing Lubusz region, this new clean energy source will contribute to economic growth and support the green transformation of businesses already operating there.
The Szprotawa solar farm is divided into two sections (Szprotawa I and Szprotawa II), comprising over 107,000 advanced bifacial modules spanning more than 300,000 square meters. The longest rows of panels stretch nearly 600 meters. The site is equipped with 214 inverters (converting DC to AC) and 10 medium-voltage stations (with transformers to step up the generated current).
Onshore renewable energy has been a solid foundation of our business for years, enabling Polenergia to pursue further growth. According to our strategy, we aim to strengthen our position in this sector by expanding wind and solar generation assets and integrating energy storage solutions.
The construction of Szprotawa I and II took place from March to December 2024, with grid connection terms secured in 2021. Nearby, Polenergia also operates the Mycielin wind farm, which functions as a separate entity with its own connection infrastructure.
Polenergia currently operates 13 wind farms and six photovoltaic farms, with a combined generation capacity of 574 MW. Following the launch of the Szprotawa solar farm, the total onshore capacity of Polenergia will rise to 641 MW, and the number of solar farms in its portfolio will increase to eight.
