Dominika Kulczyk’s company lands a huge green energy supply contract

Polenergia, the largest Polish private energy group, has signed an eight-year Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (cPPA) with Leroy Merlin Poland and Bricoman Poland, both part of the Adeo Group, for the supply of renewable energy worth more than PLN 100 million. For Polenergia, this is one of the largest PPA agreements concluded to date, while for Leroy Merlin, it represents another important step in its energy transformation journey.

The contracted energy for Adeo Group companies will come from two of Polenergia’s farms: the Grabowo wind farm and the Strzelino photovoltaic farm. Energy sales to recipients will be carried out by Polenergia Obrót. Under the agreement, Leroy Merlin Poland will receive 41 GWh of renewable energy annually, while Bricoman Poland will receive 4 GWh. In addition to renewable energy from these specific sources, Polenergia Obrót will provide guarantees of origin in volumes equal to the renewable energy consumed.

We have signed one of the largest zero-emission energy supply contracts in our Group’s history. Renewable energy will be delivered to Leroy Merlin and Bricoman stores from two farms: photovoltaic Strzelino and wind farm Grabowo. The sale of energy under cPPA contracts is an example of our long-term strategic goals in action, while also making a tangible contribution to the green transition and to price stability for enterprises in Poland.

Adam Purwin

CEO of Polenergia

Thanks to its long-term nature and competitive conditions, the agreement also ensures cost stability and predictability of supply in a changing market environment. Alongside the main PPA, the companies also signed a supplementary PPA+ agreement, providing recipients with comprehensive solutions for balancing contracted energy supply.

This long-term PPA secures many years of cost-stable and zero-emission renewable energy supply. It will reduce the emissions of Adeo Group companies in Poland by more than 25,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually. This is a major step in our consistently implemented climate strategy, which also includes improving energy efficiency, developing our own renewable sources, and securing long-term PPAs. At the same time, we are supporting the energy transformation of Polish households and businesses by offering our customers integrated solutions under the ‘Energy-Saving Home’ program, which combine financial savings with reduced environmental impact.

Matthieu Pihery

CEO of Leroy Merlin Poland

Efforts to reduce direct emissions, especially those related to energy consumption, are crucial in the short term for Leroy Merlin Poland’s climate objectives. These goals are clearly defined – total emissions (own and across the value chain) are to be reduced by 50% by 2035 compared to 2021 levels, with climate neutrality to be achieved no later than 2050.

Through its subsidiaries Polenergia Obrót and Polenergia Sprzedaż (set to merge under the Polenergia Obrót brand in 2026), Polenergia supplies electricity generated from renewable and ecological sources. For cPPA contracts, energy is delivered from the Group’s thirteen wind farms and eight photovoltaic farms, with a total capacity of 642 MW. The sale of green energy supports clients in achieving their environmental goals and in adopting ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) practices.
