First Supplier Day for Bałtyk 1...

First Supplier Day for Bałtyk 1 – the Largest Offshore Wind Farm Developed in Phase II of Poland’s Offshore Wind Sector

Polenergia and Equinor are once again organizing a Supplier Day – this time dedicated entirely to the Bałtyk 1 project, the largest and most advanced offshore wind farm being developed in the second phase of Poland’s offshore wind sector. For domestic contractors, the event represents a real opportunity to become part of the supply chain. Drawing on their experience from the first phase, Polenergia and Equinor aim to achieve up to 45% participation of Polish companies in the Bałtyk 1 project. The event will take place on September 16, 2025, at the STARTER Gdańsk Business Incubator.

The first Supplier Day for Bałtyk 1 is targeted at potential suppliers offering services essential for the preparation, implementation, servicing, and maintenance of offshore wind farms. The event opens up new collaboration opportunities for companies looking to actively engage in the development of Poland’s offshore wind sector.

Engaging Local Companies in Offshore Wind Development

Supplier Day is an initiative launched by Polenergia and Equinor in 2019 to support the inclusion of domestic companies in strategic offshore wind investments. Previous Supplier Days focused on the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 projects and attracted strong interest from both Polish and international companies. The format has proven to be an effective platform for establishing business relationships, which is why the investors have decided to continue this initiative with Bałtyk 1.

A Project of Strategic Importance for the Energy Transition

Bałtyk 1 is currently the most advanced project in the second phase of offshore wind development in Poland. It is also the largest potential offshore wind farm being developed in the country, with a planned capacity of up to 1,560 MW – enough to power up to 2 million households with green energy.

The qualification process for the December auction has already been launched, marking the first such application in Poland. Bałtyk 1 holds a final environmental decision, a permit for the construction and use of artificial islands, structures, and equipment in Polish maritime areas, as well as a grid connection agreement with the transmission system operator PSE.

To ensure the success of Poland’s energy transition and increase the involvement of domestic companies, it is crucial to make full use of the project’s potential. Polenergia and Equinor’s ambition is for up to 45% of the project to be carried out by Polish businesses. Achieving this goal, however, depends on the successful completion of the auction later this year.

Participation in Supplier Day is free of charge, but prior registration is required. The registration form and detailed information about the event will soon be available at: www.baltyk123.pl.
