Polenergia establishes 5-year cooperation with Warsaw University of Technology to support workforce development

Polenergia, the largest privately-owned energy group in Poland, has signed an agreement with the Warsaw University of Technology to support the education of future professionals in the energy sector. Under the agreement, Polenergia will take patronage over the Environmental Engineering programme for a period of five years. The goal of the cooperation is to strengthen the competencies of students at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering in the fields of renewable energy, energy management, and sustainable development. Partnerships aimed at enhancing sector-specific competencies and promoting education are a key element of the Group’s ESG strategy.

Cooperation with the Warsaw University of Technology is an investment in the future of Poland’s energy sector. Together, we aim to educate future professionals not only to meet the challenges of the energy transition, but to actively help shape it. Through the involvement of our experts, who will share practical knowledge and experience, we can effectively align students’ skills with the real needs of the dynamically changing energy market.

Marta Porzuczek

Head of the Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development Department at Polenergia

As part of the agreement, Polenergia’s experts will deliver guest lectures and seminars at the university, focusing on the latest solutions and trends in renewable energy. The cooperation will also include joint development of curriculum content for degree programmes offered by the university, ensuring they are well adapted to current labour market demands and the challenges of Poland’s energy transition. Polenergia and the Warsaw University of Technology will also jointly promote career paths in renewable energy and sustainable energy management. To support this, open days, information sessions, and dedicated events will be organised.

Our cooperation with Polenergia is an important step towards more closely aligning our educational offerings with the actual needs of the labour market. We want to jointly develop academic content to best prepare students for their future roles as professionals contributing to Poland’s energy transition. Polenergia is a strategic partner for us in this process.

Dr. Eng. Maciej Chaczykowski

Professor at the Warsaw University of Technology and Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering

The Faculty of Environmental Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology offers first- and second-cycle degree programmes in Environmental Engineering. It also conducts interdisciplinary research and development in the field of engineering and technology, specifically in the discipline of environmental engineering, mining, and energy.

In line with its ESG strategy, Polenergia actively invests in the development of future energy sector professionals. The Group enters into numerous partnerships aimed at building competencies and spreading knowledge about renewable energy sources. For several years, it has collaborated, for example, with the Lesław A. Paga Foundation to educate future leaders of Poland’s energy sector. The company is also engaged in environmental education, implementing programmes in cooperation with educational institutions that are targeted at children, youth, and future renewable energy experts.
