Polenergia Fotowoltaika changes ownership

Opublikowano 12 May 2026

Polenergia, Poland’s largest private energy group, has completed the sale of 100% of shares in Polenergia Fotowoltaika. The company has been acquired by an industry investor operating in the Polish power sector.

The transaction supports Polenergia’s strategy of focusing on its core renewable energy areas: offshore and onshore wind power, as well as energy storage. The sale of assets from the distributed energy segment is part of the Group’s ongoing effort to streamline its investment portfolio and optimize its structure.

Polenergia Fotowoltaika will continue to operate as usual, delivering ongoing projects and providing full support to its customers.

The agreement marks another step in the review of strategic options for the Polenergia Group, as well as an important part of streamlining its investment portfolio and sharpening its focus on the core business. The company remains consistently focused on ambitious, long-term projects, especially the development and construction of offshore and onshore wind farms that will help shape the future of Poland’s energy sector,

Piotr Sujecki

Vice President of the Management Board and Chief Financial Officer of Polenergia S.A.

The acquisition is carried out by a credible industry investor with capital resources and sector expertise needed to support the company’s further development. As a result, Polenergia Fotowoltaika gains the opportunity to continue operating outside the Group’s structure, under an owner focused specifically on this business segment.

We see the acquisition of Polenergia Fotowoltaika as a strategic step towards building a strong, scalable position in distributed energy and modern renewable energy solutions by the ELQ Group. We are acquiring a company with an experienced team, proven know-how and the trust of its customers, which are solid foundations for further growth. Our ambition is not simply to continue the business, but to give it new momentum through technological development, a broader offering, greater operational scale and synergies with ELQ Group’s capabilities in the power sector. We view this acquisition not as a standalone transaction, but as part of ELQ Group’s broader growth strategy in the energy transition.

Marcin Sołtysiak

President of ELQ S.A., the new owner of Polenergia Fotowoltaika.

Going forward, all communications regarding Polenergia Fotowoltaika’s development directions, plans and initiatives will be handled by the company’s new owner.
